Shaking after Ready Lift 2.5

After installing Ready Lift 2.5/1 spacer lift on my TRD Sport there is a vibration/shake coming from the drive train or wheels. Anyone else done same lift and experience vibration/shaking? It is at slow speed and highway speeds but more noticeable above 50MPH.

On Method 703 17x8.5 on 285/75/17

No other suspension mods.

wheels are freshly balanced and alignment was done to recommend specs by Ready Lift

 

Did you do the wheels and tires the same time as the lift? If so, I would throw the stock wheels and tires on and see if the shaking still persists.

Those method wheels look like the have the larger center bore to fit the older tacomas. Are you running hub centric rings?

 

yes they were done same time.
Wheels are lug centric so hub size doesn’t matter.

 

If you still have the stock wheels, you should try them.

 

Yup. Still have them. I’ll swap and see if it goes away

 

Can't help with your issues, but truck looks great.

 

Whoever installed the wheels could have done it in a rush and not tightened the lugs evenly and in a star pattern. Might be worth checking.

 

Did you check tire PSI to see if they are overinflated?

With method’s on both my Tacoma and tundra I would get highway speed vibration unless I torqued the lugnuts with the weight of the vehicle off the wheel and the tire wedged. On a subsequent set of hub centric wheels I never had that issue.

 

Sounds like tires since it’s speed related I would get the tires road force balanced .

If they're balanced using the center bore instead of the lug adapter, it definitely does matter. Most shops don't have the lug adapter. My local dealership actually does, but don't have the collet that goes with it. They use the cone, which balances from the center bore...
