Hey everyone--I want to try and see if my truck is experiencing the same issues described above (not sure bc I can't see the videos).

I took this video of mine this morning. My truck was sitting for 3 days and then I started it this morning (temperature was 30 degrees). I've had this kind of rumbling/vibration in my stick happen three or four times over the past one or two months. It always happens when I start it in the morning. The first time, I turned my engine off and restarted it and same thing. The last couple times I waiting a little bit longer to see if the vibrations would go away and it was fine after about 30 seconds. The idle rpm is maybe a little higher while it's shaking before it goes back to normal after this time.

    What's going on with this?

Ever had your valve clearance checked or adjusted?

Never in the 36000 miles I've had this truck.

Is that something I can check myself? Pretty straightforward? I don't have many tools, but I can ask around, check out some youtube videos, and look through my Haynes manual.

Anything else I should be aware of?

    Thanks!

It's not the most friendly diy job since the valve covers have to come off. Depending on age that can get messy with the harness plastics dried out. Just a guess on my part too. It sounds like the valves might be tight and it takes a minute to warm up and get closer to spec.
