I've been having intermittent issues with my 2019 OR with what sounds like my suspension.

The issue really appears randomly, I thought I maybe had something loose in my cab that was shaking when going over bumps, but I began to notice this issue more and more as I've had the truck. I'm getting close to 10k miles and still haven't heard the issue go away.

I've taken it to toyota 3 times now, and it's currently in the shop for it while they try to reproduce. With it being intermittent, the issue is I can't seem to reproduce the problem when I drop it off.

I've got a video of the sound happening, curious to know if anyone else has experienced this issue before and has better steps of reproducing.

That's very odd. Is it just when you hit a dip or bump?

Yeah, it starts up right when I hit a bump, or some kind of large uneven part of the road. Some roads are really bad, and it won't stop, but other days it won't happen at all. I have noticed that it seems to happen whenever it is the passenger front side suspensions moves.

I remember reading about one of the front body mounts by the radiator was a issue on the 3rd gens, but that was more of hearing thump not shaking.

Curious to know what they find out. Something seems to be loose in the suspension, drivetrain or body to frame, though that could be a pain to track down. You still have a warranty, so it will have to be fixed.

I had a creaking sound when my 2019 OR was only a month old but it didn't sound like this. I found out my spare tire wasn't tightened enough after I installed the spare tire lock and it was causing the sound. My spare tire felt secure but hitting a bump just right or causing some flex would make it creak so I tightened it down really well and it stopped it.

Good luck on tracking it down. I hope they fix it for you.

Yeah they will, I had one tech tell me that he has seen a few 19 OR's come in for a misaligned cab issue that would cause a bushing to wear out overtime, and then cause a constant metal sound to happen, I am thinking it might be that?

Definitely could be, admittedly this is my first truck so I'm still learning what normal is. This video was recorded in ~70F weather however, I haven't noticed temperatures to have a major affect on the sound as it is ~25F by me now and I still have the issue.

Keep the tension spring lubricated, or it will sound like you have chains dangling under your truck.
    Ask me how I know.

There is a spring on this that rubs the inner shaft
Of the assembly which will develop a squeaky sound, almost like chains. I use this grease and it works well. 20200124_134138.jpg lucas-oil-car-fluids-chemicals-11025-64_1000.jpg

Speaking of phantom noises. I had a loud knocking sound every time I hit a bump. Sounded like it was the heat shield or something in the dash. I could not pin point it. Turns out a passenger had detached the sun visor to swing out to shade the passenger window. When he returned it to the stowed position he did not snap it back in. When bumps were hit it would bounce off the headliner portion making a noise from nowhere. I and others swore the noise was from underneath the truck or in the dashboard.

Not gonna lie, if this is what is causing this sound, I'm gonna be really mad I didn't catch it earlier.
