Hey guys I recently did a few mods to my 2011 access cab 4 cyl. I put billsteins all around and set the front to 1.75, wheelers 3 leaf progressive in the rear, and I put on some 265/70r17 duratracs with black rhino wheels. I had the tires mounted and rotated and I had the alignment done today and the steering wheel is shaking when I'm at speeds around 45 or higher. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be?The guy at meineke who did the alignment said I should get a new steering stabilizer but I have read around and people are saying that shouldn't be the problem. If anyone has an answer or input I would really appreciate because it's bothering the hell out of me. I'm also getting some squeaking whenever I hit any little bumps and it sounds like it's coming from the uca's but I really don't have a clue. Any input would be great people. Thanks!

Boy you changed a lot at once. Makes it harder to isolate the issue. That said, I would say balance is most likely the main culprit. Get the wheels balanced with a Road Force balancer. Here is a shop locator:

    http://www.hunter.com/gsp9700

Call the closest shop, and ask if they have Haweka adapters. These are adapters that mount the wheel to the balancer through the lug holes on the wheel. Especially helpful when balancing lug centric wheels which I'm guessing yours are. Also make sure if the bore diameter of the wheels is bigger than 106.1 mm that you have hub centric rings for them.

I think that adapter only applies to OEM wheels and OP has aftermarket.

Duratracs are notorious for not balancing correctly and causing vibrations. I use to have them and could never get them to balance at any shop.

Yea I was driving with the billies for about a month before I got the tires and everything seemed fine. As soon as I got the tires it started. So can I rule out that it doesn't need a steering stabilizer?

The Haweka adapters can be used on either factory (hub centric), or aftermarket lug centric wheels, but are a key component when trying to balance lug centric wheels.

Those are hub centering rings to center the wheel on the hub.

Okay should I still try and find the haweka adaptors and try the balance with them or.. I'm just really lost with what I should do, I'm definitly going to try a Balance again. Does anyone have any info with the squeaking noise I get when i hit every little bump

All depends where the squeaking is coming from. With your truck parked (obviously) grab the bed rails and shake it, or jump up and down on your rear bumper. That'll tell you if its your leafs or not.

The black rings should make the wheels hub centric. That is good as long as they are the correct size.
You could put a wrench on your suspension parts to make sure nothing was left loose but I would take it back to have the wheels/tires balanced.
Then I would test drive to make sure it is fixed.

Your tires aren't balanced correctly, take it back to the tire shop and ask them to have their best guy do a roadforce balance. I've had similar issues w/my duratracs, it's not unheard of.

    Okay
Squeaking is coming from the passenger side front. It happens with every small bump. I usually just turn the tunes up but I still know it's there and it bugs me haha. I'm bringing it to the shop tomorrow maybe they can figure it out

Huh, that's really odd. Curious to see what the shop says. Could be the bushings in the control arms or something.

NTB will do a road force balance with the Haweka adapters. I think all of their sister companies do it to.

Just went through the same shaking in the steering wheel. Rotate your tires and see if the problem is still there.
That's when my shaking started and had them balanced and they're good now.
