Anyone notice their hood shaking going down the road on their 95.5 to 2000 Taco? I did and then ignored until today when I replaced the plastic cowl panel below the windshield. The oe panel had been discontinued by Toyota so I ordered the 2001 to 2004 panel and there is a rubber bumper attached to the panel where it makes contact with the hood to keep it from shaking. It was kind of a chore to put in because the windshield installer used too much adhesive when the windshield was replaced by the P/O. I had to cut all the excess away to get it to fit properly. Anyway it's on now a will take to work and see how it goes.
I forgot to add the cowl panel in the foreground is my original crusty one. It was time to retire it. I tried the heat gun trick to bring back the color and it didn't work out so well.

The two round rubber bumpers can be unscrewed by hand to raise them thus making the hood close shut more snug, if that’s what you’re talking about.

No, I am talking right at the back of the hood. The black plastic cowl where the wiper arms come out. That plastic cowl panel extends under the hood and the rubber bumper gives the hood support in the back when closed.

I have the same shaking/vibration at the back of the hood. It started after I installed the Toyota bug screen on the front of the hood soon after buying the truck new.

The 2 rubber bumpers at the front corners do 2 jobs one is to level the hood to fender so that it is even and the second is to provide upward pressure so that the hood actually pops up when you pull the hood release.

The rear of my hood shakes too, and I do have the bug shield. Do you have the part# of the newer panel?

I wonder if gluing a bumper onto it would work too.

Well, that little extra support in the rear will keep it from shaking. On a side note I took the front bumpers off and soaked them with 303 Protectant and they softend up and reinstalled them. Now it pops the hood up when I pull the release.
