lol, I know. No dirty pics please. I was inspired by one of my favorite oil forums. Please, this is NOT an oil debate topic, I seriously ask we don’t go down this road. I’m just interested in dipstick pics. Even if you are using olive oil

This 3500 miles on my oil of choice. I’m really impressed with how clean the oil is. M1 Euro is my poison for now. Does not smell to high heaven of fuel like the factory fill. I wish I took a picture of how dirty and nasty that oil was at such a low mileage. No, this not scientific, just interesting to me. Share also if you are interested.

I actually I get a very consistent reading if I measure it consistently. From what I understand, the best way to measure is after you’ve driven at least 15 minutes. Turn the engine off and wait 30 seconds to one 1 min. This is the proper way according to a Toyota master tech. Measuring when cold is inaccurate. Of course parked on a flat surface.

correct. Neighbor is a master tech and says to do the same. I’ve found it easier to confirm when I drain on changes. Luckily not much fluctuation there. I’m at 56k on my 2018 so a little different than your 23.

 

Some say it’s best to measure after a 15 minute drive. Turn the engine off and wait 30 seconds to one 1 min.

Measuring cold is the easiest for some to be able to read the dipstick.

As long as it is between the two marks, it’s good. I generally like mine to be 2/3rds of the way up between the marks.

It’s just a bit more than 1/2 way between the marks when hot.

This dipstick stuff ain’t rocket science.
