Looks good! Let us know how it works out. I would have been happy to spend a few more bucks to not have to mod the other ones like I did since I'm lazy :D. Bed mat helps a lot to keep things from sliding as well

I'll have to get a bed mat eventually too...

So apparently Amazon prime now gets handed off to something called "AMZL_US" , which is basically "we hand it to some retard with a sprinter van, maybe he delivers, maybe he doesn't, the fuck you gonna do about it?!?" logistics. :annoyed:

Eventually I'll let you know how the things work out.:jerkoff:

No I have not done this yet. There is you tube videos out on it as well as a couple of threads. Search for them.

Not really. It's nothing special and now it takes a spot for switches. I wish it was in the door

I think maybe the tie-downs I bought were a mistake.

The ring itself certainly looks nice, but the little mounting clasps are really shitty and way too soft. Totally inconsistent in their bends as well.

Crappy pic because it's nighttime, I wasn't about to go sit in my black bed out in the lovely Arizona sun to install.

You can see the things are bending outwards even from the load of a 36" bungee stretched to the same position on the other side of the bed. I have my doubts about the 200 lb strength.

I'll have to run past a tractor supply and get some real d-rings. Nothing wagered, nothing gained I suppose...

So I must be semi-retarded... I went to the tractor supply and got that exact kit (same brand but it was in a bag instead of on a card but whatever).

I tried bending one around on itself with my 2 biggest pairs of pliers and I managed to really stuff it, the channel where the ring is supposed to go is now too small and I can't bend it the rest of the way.

Any technique hints? I don't really have access to a good workshop right now, sadly.

I used a table vice to pinch them together. Made the process super easy.

Yeah I don't have access to a vise or even anything that would be a good anvil to hammer the snot out of it. I live in an apartment right now with just my backpack full of tools. I tried bending another but it got all cocked up again.

I ended up just buying the 4 pack of DC cargo mall ones from Amazon cause they are prepainted (I think powder coated) anyways. :notsure:

3rd set of d-rings is the charm, hopefully.:bananadead:

I remember the constraints of apartment living all to well, and feel your pain. Best of luck, let me know if you have anymore questions.

Drive up to Home Depot or Lowes and use the rings to test the capabilities of the vices they sell

    I thought about that. :D

I know the employees DGAF but just for my own personal stress level I decided to say screw it. Maybe someday I'll mount the un-bent ones on something.

Thanks. I do have the ability to low-key wrench in my complex, aside from oil changes because the HOA will get super pissy about that. Mercifully I do have a new lady friend whose dad allows me to take up his garage sometimes. In return I keep her car clean and do little maintenance things here and there.

I've got a vice. I live in chandler but am up in Scottsdale regularly. Drop me a pm if you need. I can't imagine bending a d ring is that difficult. We can always hit it harder or apply more leverage. :)

    A few minor things...
I used size 14. I'd try a 13.5 if you can find it. This might be dependent on the manufacturer too... I bought cheap ebay ones.
