    Care to elaborate the advantages/disadvantages?
Does this mod retain the AM/FM signals, and eliminate all others?

It retained FM, but not as clear as the roof mount (slight disadvantage). If I have a clear signal the chanel comes in fine.

Advantages: I can drive under my low gate, install my cab over camper, have XM reception while my cab over is installed, cleaner look compared to the shark fin, IMO

XM is now on the hood, GPS is somewhere in the dash, FM is in the original shark fin shoved under the dash, so I don't think I sent any signals back to the mini shark fin, and it's only acting as a plug (OEM albeit).

    Thanks for the response.
I'm not concerned with any reception but AM and FM.
All other I can do without.

I relocated mine inside the car. It will fit on the rear passenger side cover under the air bag next to the upper seatbelt bolt. it doesn't interfere with the seat belt operation. Used a small piece of roof tape (flex tape) inside and out to seal the hole.
