2012 DC 4x4 MT when making sharp turns on pavement, like pulling into a parking space, the truck "chatters" and chirps almost as if in 4wd. You can feel every knob of the 285 mud terrains as they roll, and it (or an alignment issue) is starting to take a toll on the front tires...So, I confirmed the ADD is operating by spinning the front tires by hand in 2wd and 4wd. No problem there, it responds as expected, and the truck shifts in and out of 4wd, no problem. So I am wondering about CV joints (the are no other symptoms) or is maybe the nature of big lugged tires? All my prior experience has been with more docile all terrains

    TIA

Definitely sounds like alignment to me.

My 'big lug' 285's don't chatter at all... smooth as butter ride and steering. Better take it to an alignment shop

The truck is lined up, if not precicely to spec, very, very close. Drives straight as an arrow and no asymmetrical tire wear

It's the tires. My KO2's never did this. The POS Duratracs do this on every sharp turn.

The reason I suggested an alignment shop is that then you can have a professional and yourself get under the truck easy and inspect it. Maybe it is a cv problem? Maybe it's something else? Wheel bearing perhaps?

I've run all kinds of mud terrains and the only ones I've ever heard chatter because of the tire were brand new bloggers, even those mellow out once they have some wear on them.

I have had trucks that might have been aligned perfectly but they had some parts going bad and needed to be replaced.

Best of luck, these things can be a pita to track down, hopefully it's not.

Agree. It definitely appears to be a tire and/ or alignment problem.
