...now I finally have the extra money to register my truck.

I ran into some issues, and a layoff (sigh) that kept me from the driver's seat of my 1998 tacoma recently.

My simple question is as follows:

    1. Other than check the oil level and tire pressure, what should I do to ensure that the truck is in fine condition to drive?

    Thanks,
    Nate

could check for bad coolant and bad gas if it has been sitting for a while. a few months shouldnt bother it but a good thing to check

also maybe cracking or eroding fuel or vacuum lines but again they should be fine seeing as how its a 98

Alright...I'll check both. I'm going to let her idle in the driveway for a bit while I peek under the hood and inspect away.
