I'm looking at adding a shift Controller to my 2nd gen (a750 trans), with a switch so I can still use the automatic in traffic/around town.

    Something like this: http://radesignsproducts.com/site/0...signsproducts.com/Shift_Controllers.html#2628

That would cause the trans warning lights and maybe a CEL to pop when I hit the switch. Has anyone looked at or heard of a circuit to make the ECU think its still connected to the trans?

I think it's voltage and current sensing on the outputs, but that may be wrong too.

And to answer the inevitable :) because I can.

That's the right site. I'm looking at their shift controler, and cutout switch which model doesn't matter. Any of them will cause the ECU to throw codes when you disconnect it from the trans to assume manual control.

I'd like to buy (but will design and build if needed) a circuit that will prevent this.

    I'll read your thread.

    Thank you,
    AE
