Shift Solenoids, 1st Gen (3.4 V6)

Anyone?

 

This may or may not help anybody.....

I have the rare a43d tranny.......its only rare in the tacomas....but very common on the older 22r's and the 3vz RWD.....

I've surfed looking for replacement parts....and it is scary....never know if something fits....

So after awhile....had a flash of light.....

Turns out the Aisin's are very popular trannys....they're in tons of vehicles, not just toyotas......so many shops in the state have to work on them....the mexicans down here love em...especially 22r's...

Turns out the main transmission supply in my state 'Oklahoma Transmission Supply' has all the catalogs listing all the parts on these...

Now whether or not they can still get a particular part...maybe a whole other story...

So by ordering thru them .....at least I have an out when I go down there in person to pick the part up......if its not the right part.........I bet they're the best bet to somehow find that part....

Now they are not gonna beat some of these online prices......but it aint cheap....if its the wrong part...

So where ever the main supplier is your state......Aisin is in tons trucks and cars down here....needing repairs everyday...


And by the way OTS has all those parts catalogs online......hundreds and hundreds of pages tho.....
They are mainly a wholesale seller to the shops......but have OTC retail sales too....

 

Got it! It seems like this one will work. My next question is if there is a big difference in quality between different brands??

From what I can see it seem like the lock up solenoid is very interchangeable among different vehicles with the A304 transmissions??

 

can anyone comment on all the remanufactured solenoids that I'm seeing for sale? Are they worth it??

 

If it's making cold air and isn't making terrible noises then I really doubt it is the problem you're searching for.
