[IMG]Well this happened to me last week. Doing about 60 MPH. My right knee contacts the 4 week drive button and the truck tries to go into 4 wheel. It made a terrible noise but didn't engage. Don't want that to happen again. Here's what I did to prevent it. Went to Home Depot and bought a 10 ft piece of 2 inch electrical conduit.($5) Cut 5 inches of the flared end and put it over the lever. Fits like a glove.

    Hope this helps somebody!!!

I've hit 4*4 doing 55 mph in all my trucks before going to pass in the snow/ ice. Let'er lock and then hit the gas....and come back into my lane and shift out. Nothing ever wrong with mine after that.

I posted this in 2nd gen Tacomas incorrectly and someone fixed my pics. Go there to view pics. I tried to fix mine and couldn't. Wish I could!

Owners manual says you can shift into 4x4 up to 65mph I think.

Ya i think it says decrease speed to 62 mph or below and shift. That is only for 4 high!! NOT 4 low
