Derp is great stuff. I don't know if it will stick better than paint, but it will be more chip resistant. My derped grille is looking great going on almost 2yrs now. I didn't do anything other than a good wipe with alcohol.

Anyone know what size threads I will need if I purchase a shifter ball? Thinking either a solid black or a cue ball.

Assuming you have the '19 SR listed in your vehicle info, you need M8x1.25 threads.

Hey, how did you go about painting the collar? I mean, did you take it off somehow? I'm running the trd pro knob on my 6mt & want to delete the chrome collar.

Yes. I took it off to paint. The first time, I was able to reuse the stock zip tie. When I did the RedlineGoods boot, I needed a new one.

Ah, ok. I didn't realize the collar comes off. I figured the leather boot was anchored into it permanently.
    Thanks

Just a ziptie. The OE one has a small head and is flipped backward so that it can't be felt.

Cool. Yep, I removed the collar with no problems. Paint is drying. I took the shift knob apart & painted the little red tabs too. No chrome or red for me

Also have this type, but it will need to be tested first.

I have the prototype for this one made, finally.

Just need to make a few minor changes, but fitment could not have worked out better.

Few more tweaks, and I think this is the one. More aggressive taper relative to the previous one (which looks clumsy, IMO).
