Does the shifter come out of a manual 5 speed transmission? What is the process? I need to lower it down and don't want to damage it.
    Thanks

It does on my w59, you have to unbolt that entire top plate that holds it down.

Push ring down and turn 90 degrees and it will come out. Alternatively you can unbolt the whole thing.

Replace the bushing with the delrin one while you are in there. The brand name escapes me but you can find it online
