Shifter seat, socket, boot, suggestion

Hi,

I'm planning on replacing clutch soon, While The transmission is out, I want to replace the shifter seat, and socket, probably the boot if it is broken, I noticed a wet oil stain comming out of the shifter, so maybe boot is broken?.

Any suggestions on where and what to get? I hear that www.marlincrawler.com sells some nice ones and that the toyota parts are weak.

any suggestions? what about price?

Also, how do I know what transmission is installed on the truck? I know is 5 speeds manual. but Amazon is prompting for either:

W59

I'm getting ready to swap the clutch on my W59 transmission, Seem like a good idea to replace the front and rear oil seals.

Where is a good place to but buy them and how much would be the expected price?

I decided to get the shifter bushings and boot from www.marlincrawler.com

I believe it's the W59. I ordered a shifter seat and socket a long time ago, one of the first things I did on my truck. The email receipt just says it was for "all other Toyota applications".

As far as oil seals, just stick with OEM.

 

do a search. I remember seeing one and there is even a video. have fun. it's a job and a half.

 

I have the Marlin crawler seat & bushing and they have been great. My shifter used to growl/grind going into gears a lot with the OEM set-up. Since I got the marlin crawler seat & bushing, the issue has been 98% alleviated.

As far as the tranny - it looks like a pretty straightforward disassembly (remove crossmember, disconnect electrical sensors, support tranny, unbolt driveshafts, unbolt bellhousing, and pull out.) But as others have said, there should be some good resources on here if you search.
