My dad recently replaced the bushings to the shifter bar , he put everything back but now the shifter is stuck in park , and I can’t figure out why , I checked and made sure everything is aligned but the shifter won’t go all the way down IMG_4882.png IMG_4883.png

Can you use the shift lock bypass button to get it to move?

Also, do the brake lights work.
The shifter lock won’t disengage unless the brake lights work.

No even with the lock bypass button it won’t move , but the brake lights do work. I can’t figure out why when I push the shifter button it won’t go all the way down .

From what I can see this part isn’t retracting when I push the button on the shifter

Best I remember there is a long white rod that has to go down in the shif lock bypass to press it out of the way. More than one person has “lost” this piece when removing the shift console.

It really sounds like a shift lock issue. Whether it’s electrical or mechanical, we need to figure out. Are all the connections good. Plugs on tight and none forgotten?
