My 2018 tacoma automatic shifter is getting increasingly harder to move and now won't engage in drive.

Sounds like possibly the shifter cable or shift interlock is binding up, is it only hard to get out of park or is it hard to move throughout the entire range?

Probably the shift cable that runs from the shifter to the transmission, you can disconnect it at the transmission (make sure you block the wheels before going under the truck) and see if it's still hard to move, if it is then it needs a shift cable, if its not then something is likely wrong in the transmission.
