A couple of weeks ago I noticed when shifting into 3rd it only goes in half way. The problem hasn't gone away. Searching around it seems like this is due to old shifter bushings and is a cheap fix.

My question is what do I order?

Should I pick the "all other Toyota applications"? Part MCTM-532

Should I get the white one?

I'm pretty sure the white one was the one I bought for my '97, tranny feels brand new now

Ok thanks, just ordered! Hopefully it's as easy to replace and install at everyone makes it out to be.

What kind of grease did you use?

its pretty simple install, but was a little tight getting the shifter retainer cup thinger back in from what I recall. I just dabbed a thin coat of whatever grease was in my gun at the time. Not sure what type it was but it was nothin special.

How do you get the inner ring thing out? It won't push down more than 1mm.

I'm going to post in the local forum, see if I can find someone much stronger than I am to help.

push down and twist is all there is to it. My shifter seat was pretty much gone so the retainer dam near just fell right out. Reinstalling with the new seat in was a bit of a biotch though.
