Got a 2016 sr5. Seems to shift a lot. Guess this will take some getting used to. Anyone else notice this?

    Two things to consider.
    1. Do you have tow package? If so, get your fluid checked asap.
    2. The tranny is learning, so it will seem odd until it learns your driving style.
O.k. 3 things. Search on here, lots of threads about this.

Once you fill tranny up to full, you should disconnect battery negative cable for about 30min - this will reset the ECU learning for your shifting patterns - since it was learning how to shift with less fluid you will want it to learn with full tranny fluid.

Try the ECT mode, drive like U stole it. Or B glad it's not an 8spt transmission.
This explains why it's taken Toyota so long to bring us up to speed, no pun intended.
But the 8spd might be in store on the next Gen? :/
