That's the point, and has already been mentioned/explained by the manufacturer. :)

Those initial shift points look pretty solid. Not far off what I do in my manual.

    2-3 at 22ish
    3-4 at 38ish
    4-5 at 58ish

I'm normally gettin into 6th before 70 though unless I'm trying to go but if I'm trying to go I'd still be in 4th

Yes, this sounds similar. The final-drive gear ratios between the automatic and the manual tacoma are quite different which would explain why you hit 6th gear sooner. Here are the calculated ratios for auto vs manual:

    auto manual
    1 14.1 17.1
    2 8.2 8.7
    3 5.8 5.7
    4 3.9 4.3
    5 2.7 3.7
    6 2.3 3.1

so as you can see, the 6th gear ratio in the auto is already quite a bit taller than the manual (so is 5 btw) meaning you wont normally hit it until higher speed.

Dang. That is a bigger difference than I thought. I knew the autos had 3.90s compared to the MTs 4.30s but didn't realize 5th and 6th were also much taller. All that and the stock yota map has it in 6th around 50? Ridiculous.

for the OV tune...not sure what to do now but wait out reviews and also
no idea what the tune is going to run once complete.

Wonder what happens when you use the ECT button in addition to this box?

    Ludicrous speed?

    Engine blows up?

I'm pretty happy with the truck overall. My plan is to pick one, just
unsure what the "best" move will be. Some more response which this
device looks to deliver would be plenty. Any idea what a tune of the
    OV type may go for?

    bwahahaha!!

Probably be between $450 (FRS tune) and $650 (IS350 tune).

But it's worth noting that would only be the ECU tune. Potentially double that to include the TCM tune for automatics.

So you put the truck in "s" and it will shift itself? Not going to lie I don't think I've even put it in "s"

I think what some people are asking is something like this: Without this box, when you pull the shift lever over into S mode it automatically goes into fourth gear. With the box installed what gear will it go in to when you pull the lever from D into S mode? Also once in S mode will the box upshift and downshift fully automatically through gears one through six? I think just for a few people are confused and concerned about
