Eagerly awaiting reviews of the new chip! That covers my only issues with this product, hanging on to 4th/5th like it's falling off a cliff.

Same here. I'm really wanting to see how the shifts from 4th improve. That is my only real issue w/ this device, so I'm glad they listened and offered an update so quickly.

So the ShiftSense could not persuade you to keep your 3rd gen?

I really hope he doesn't mean 'Front wheel drive' when he says FWD.. because no.

Just drove around town(>45mph) with version 1...
I'll withold a full review until I have version 2 and some mileage.
Only thing that stuck out was, it hangs in 3rd at 35mph/light throttle; not a dealbreaker. Also, it's in the right gear on a rolling stop or corner when you get back on the throttle.
I will say, it fixes my biggest gripe; the retarded inconsistency. That alone makes it makes it worth it.

For those of you who have installed it concealed (either within the console or behind the console) did you need the OBD extension listed in products discussed in this tread section at the bottom or was the length of cord that comes with the SS sufficient? I would will only install it concealed. Any suggestions or instructions how you installed it concealed would be appreciated.

Order $1149 c'mon baby... no whammies. Waiting on getting that email notice that this bad boy has shipped!

If you run it up further forward like one guy posted on here (he attached it just near the gas peddle), then you would have more than enough OBD cable to reach. I would think that even if you put it inside the center console like others have done you would be fine as well. I just stuck mine under the front seat so I can still reach it if I wanted to turn it off, so I needed a bit more cable anyway (and needed a splitter so I could use my Verizon Hum).

Are you wanting to keep it completely out of sight (like inside the center console) or just where you'd have to really look for it? If you just want it where you'd have to go looking, I just dropped it under the front seat and the wires ran between my WeatherTech floor mats and the console and all you can see is the wire from the shift control out.

It fits right under the cupholder if you want to conceal it. Cords plenty long enough.

I am not a fan of permanent tap on OBD power source (Don't want to burn $$$ if something goes wrong and damage ECU).
I'll re-route 12 vdc to external, fuse and extend shift cable length to hide ATSC (Aftermarket Transmission Shift Controller) to other location. Possible re-wire On/Off switch to dashboard for convenience.

    *************
Confirmed from Op on page 29, #576, power draws from shift level, not OBD.

I was thinking completely out of sight, but not dead set on it. Your idea of under the seat is pretty appealing. Both hidden and accessible. I'm not crazy about the near the gas pedal install just because I don't want a cord around the pedals, maybe I'm being paranoid.

Whoa... you fancy! You should do a write-up with pics if you do that. I know a lot of people would be interested in a fancy install.
