So what word would you like for me to use? It's a box that mimics a human shifting the truck in s-mode basically. And I'm not downing the box one bit something had to be done to make this thing tolerable. All I'm saying is it's a crying shame a guy from a forum has to make a 200$ box to make a 40k truck tolerable. Does that not make you say wtf???

Agree, that someone had to do something and a shame that it wasn't Toyota, or that it wasn't Toyota yet! How about "gadget" or "gizmo"

Yes it does. But the EPA and the CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) did not leave Toyota any room to make a more peppy truck without ruining their corporate average fuel economy.

That's the only thing that I keep telling myself when I drive this truck. But after the TSP updates it has gotten better.

The majority of people put after market stuff on their vehicles to make them better or to their likening anyhow.

Received the updated chip. I'm super impressed with the quality of the packaging. Static proof bag, foam chip holder, well detailed instructions to replace, and even a small flathead!

I got mine as well. Going to install it tomorrow night. The screw driver was a nice added touch. Customer service with the OP and his company have been stellar for me. :)

I got the SS Pro installed tonight. I took my time with the install. The hardest part was deciding where to mount the box. I took other members suggestions and mounted the box under the QI charger in the front of the console. It works great and is out of site.
My test drive was impressive and fun. Drives like a whole new truck. I like how it stays in the powerband. Great product. I also like that I can use factory settings also. I will play with it a lot more.

Mine has started to do this now! Thankfully I'm always covering the brake when slow coasting. Otherwise I'd probably have hit 4-5 cars in drive throughs now.

I think my emails are failing to get through to you for some reason.
Can you confirm an upgrade chip for order #1083? Thanks.

I had a similar situation with my Harley. Ran OK, but would get sluggish or choppy at higher altitudes. The fix was a fuel tuner. Cost $300 but the bike now runs perfectly at all times. I was pissed at Harley for a bit wondering why they wouldn't just add it at the factory if it made their bikes run so well.

Edit: I love my SS Pro.

So waited to install until I got the new chip and am stoked with it so far...

I put it under the Q charger but didn't fasten it down so wondering how others that put it there handled the placement?

Great post and product. It seem most of you commenting are running bigger tires and heavy mods, any input from those with stock vehicles as far as your thoughts on performance and mpg's?

How does this upgrade compare to having the ECT on while driving?

Also, I notice a lot more 2016 guys than 2017 in this thread. Is there more benefit for the 16's?

More 16's on the road, owners of 16's have more miles with the frustrating shifts and are more likely to be willing to put a little money toward a big difference. Correlation, not causation, methinks.

One thing I did notice was that I did not really like the shift pattern (old chip) while the truck was cold, but it did seem to smooth out after it warmed up. I think the OP mentioned this earlier as it does this to get the engine up to temperature, but I tested it out while running errands around town last weekend and did seem to like how it shifted better after it warmed up. I'm really looking forward to the new chip, though.

For all the folks going off... these guys took an issue and gave a lot of people a solution. It's not perfect for me... I still like D when I'm on the interstate (old chip), but it is really nice around town and I would even guess it would be great for towing. I'm not mad I dropped $175 for a solution to one of the issues I had... I spent more on the replacement for the fugly grille this thing had.

Oh, and yes, I still have my stock tires, so you can lump me in w/ that group of folks.
