Had the new chip installed for a little over a day now, and I'm once again impressed with the company and the product.
Like others have mentioned, it's packaged neatly, comes with detailed instructions and a small flathead that is pretty common in everyone's toolbox (but including it shows their customer appreciation to me imo)
    .20170531_121722.jpg

I had initially installed the SS Pro with velcro backing and stuffed it behind the center console, really easy to pull it out for any maintenance and can stick it back on after.
    20170531_123505.jpg

With the original unit I was very pleased with how it performed. But after the honeymoon feeling wore off around 2 weeks, I noticed the 4th-5th gear complaints about it. Still a very good unit, but the issue wasn't negligible in my everyday driving. Highway was the killer for me when there were slight uphills or even some headwind. It would go to 4th and stay there at ~3000 rpm for a long time.

So I was very happy to hear they've updated the chip to accommodate customer demand.
After a few highway commutes so far, I'm happy to report it's holding 5th steady in my truck (285/70R17s, winch and sliders for added weight).

    Couple things to consider:
    1. It stays in 5th my entire highway commute. I'm not going fast enough to activate 6th.
But don't think of that as a negative. The difference in RPM at 70-74mph for 5th and 6th is
small. I'm more than happy it stays in 5th actually.

    2. It is not a "gimmick" or whatever criticism some people are throwing at it.
Yes it is not a re-gear. It is not a competitor to a re-gear.
By most accounts, people who have done a re-gear say it is worth it. That's at 2k-3k cost
depending on what else goes with it, I assume.
So when I say it is worth it, it absolutely is in terms of cost.

So that in mind, I once again unhesitatingly recommend this to anyone who is considering the purchase

Well I wanted to be skeptical of this product and only use it for Rocky Mountain driving but i like it too much. Part of me wanted to assume the AI would eventually learn like some claim and now i'll never know!.....

Some how my MPG's increased- getting 22.1 @ 1/2 Tank so far which shocked me. Seems weird at first because it holds gear a while but then again I'm probably just used to non-stop shifting which is the focal of the entire issue. Best part for me is knowing I'm not going to up/down-shift 3+ times going up the same incline. That bothered me. Now it's 0-1 depending on MY throttle response and decision.

Overall great work OP. Feels like the 4-Runner Trans now.

Maybe too early to report but so far so good!

I'm order # 1101 and the OP said mine has the updated chip. He confirmed that orders around the 1080s/90s range started with the new chip during assembly. All other customers before then should have received an email with details about the upgrade and should have received their chip in the mail by now.

It's a big thread and I didnt notice an update. The company never responded to my website inquiry. How do you deal with one port and two systems, scangauge and this? A splitter like available on Amazon? They need to put a stake in the ground.

The OP has already answered this a few times, and there is an item in the FAQ on the website about splitters. You can go there or search this thread. :)

    Intitial impression:

    I like it, kind of....
Holds 4th until 55-56 mph. I dont like this. I thought the new chip lowered the 4th to 5th shift. Once you get it into 5th you can cruise around 50.

Most of my commute is back roads with speeds up to 50mph +, didnt like that i was in 4th gear most of the time.

This is after a 45 minute drive home. Need more time behind the wheel to really get a feel for it.

Installed my SS last night and drove all day today. What can I say except....WOW! My truck drives 100% better. All the shifts are right where they need to be. I am in love! There is no reason whatsoever for anyone to be on the fence.....get one asap!

6th gear is still in the high 70's? I need 6th at 75, My truck doesn't hold 75 worth a crap. In 5th I have vibes at 75 (2200 rpm). At 78 I risk a speeding ticket in a 70 mph zone which is my drive to work. I was hopeful the device would keep it at 75 in 6th more often.

Order #1150 received 16 days after order placed. Installed. Usually drive with a light foot and in D mode. SSPro and S mode does make the truck drive like you wish it would drive in D mode. Mother Ship dropped the bomb with their paring of the 3.5 and transmission. Good thing DZ stepped up and made a fix. I will be giving it a test with the trailer (1500lbs) this week and will post results (heading from 5860 ft over 10500 ft).

If someone could post a video of the speedo/tach accelerating from 0-70 at a normal pace, that'd be great.

Can anybody with the new chip confirm what mph your truck is shifting from 4th to 5th?
