Original v1.2 user here just bought the V2 chip as the comments have been favorable so far.

I’m getting my truck regeared with 4.88’s next week and will report back on if the SSP is still needed or not.

OP, congrats on this product. Only recently saw this thread so late the party. Installed the ShiftSense today and am very pleased. Option 1 and 2 are huge improvements over stock shift patterns. Only briefly tried Option 3. Most fun I've had driving my truck in 2 years. Console was somewhat difficult to detach with the colder weather. Had success by gripping above the hand brake opening if that helps anyone.

I bought the previous generation unit with the V1.2 chip ( I think)? I'm finding the truck wants to stay in 3rd too long and rev too high. Does the new chip seem to help this if ran in Option 1?

Yes option 1 makes the shift out of 3rd before 40mph. Makes driving around town so much better. Very worth the $12 IMO.

I bought SSP v1.0 and was loving it! Noodling around on the "inter-webs" saw that they have a V2.0! Bought that and now love it!
Setting #1 is just nice and smooth, the way it should be.
Setting #2 (the original SSP MODE) was good but I still felt like I was driving a tractor around.
Setting #3 is "ZOOM ZOOM" Mode - but then I haven't towed anything yet.

Good Job SSP! But for GOD sake tell someone that you did this update.
I had to stumble upon it by accident and I was already a convert. Time for them to do some PR!

Finally got the V2 chip installed. With the 285’s the shift points are back to the speeds that they were before the bigger tires were put on and my mpg’s are high 19’s again. Excellent.

For those thinking of running this with 4.88’s, the #2 settings are too aggressive. Will try #1 settings to see how that does. I have a feeling that it will be good in #1 mode.

Had ssp v2 now for a few weeks and absolutely love it. Ridiculously easy install, easy mode switch and huge difference driving. Like most people here, i like mode 1 the best for daily driving. MPG went up about 1.5mpg in the past 3 tanks I've filled up with no changes in my driving locations. Thanks op for a great product

@dcz108 Do you have a graph of all the different shift maps (V1.2, V2, all 3 levels)? I had the version 1.2 in my SSP then upgraded the chip to V2, level 2. To me, it seems a little different feel then the V1.2. I keep trying to shift between levels 1 and 2, but I still seem to like V1.2 better for some reason. Am I imagining things that it feels different?

Prolly cuz you stuck in traffic on the H1 all day! Don't miss that much! I guess it depends on your type of driving you are doing. V2 level 1 works great for my flat level town commutes and everything else. Haven't messed too much around with the other levels because I mainly wanted to shift out of 3rd before 40mph.

LOL. Yeah, when I have to drive to town, it can be brutal. I work and live in the Kapolei area so I do mostly rural driving. Sometimes its hard to really test out and enjoy the driving with a short commute.

Too many Hawaiians chiming in. Just kidding @TacoTruck808 Lol. @cemented I finally changed to level #1 but feels like 3rd gear holds too long before shifting to 4th. Do you feel the same way or do you like it?

    Question:

I find that if I shift quickly from Reverse into "S" as I normally do, I get three beeps instead of one.

If I shift slowly (e.g. pausing at D for .5 second) I get one beep and all is good.

Is this a known problem and are you planning on fixing it? It's pretty annoying.

No wonder you don't feel it, you're barely ferrying over 30:rofl:. I drive 1.5 miles each way to work now and barely hit above 30. I do like how the truck feels and drives over the stock map though, way more responsive.

You can find Hawaiians or people with connections to Hawaii all over the works if you look hard enough. It does hold 3rd for a second or two longer than your brain wants it to, but compared to V1 which wouldn't go till near 40 it makes a world of a difference. I think it's just in case you are trying to time the green light signal on the free way on ramp and it doesn't up shift before you mash the throttle:headbang::burnrubber::rofl:!

All of this sounds pretty awesome. Hate to ask it here, but are there the same issues with the 2017 four cylinder automatics? The page for this item said it was for six cylinder models.

The older, bad automatic tranny posts also seem to focus on the six cylinder. My four cylinder SR has a 10/17 build date, shifts fine from p to d, d to r. It does like to go into 4th gear on the highway, where I usually like to travel at 80 mph. I'm just wondering if that is normal due to the smaller motor. This happens on highway inclines, and merging on to the highway. It will settle back to fifth or sixth when things level out. My first thought is that it's a small motor doing what it can to get rolling at higher speeds. Thanks for any input.
