I have some shocks I will be rebuilding and I am thinking of Revalving them also. I am familiar with the rebuild process of shocks, and I understand how they work, but I want to know what shim sizes I should get (or if I should keep the stock ones) and if I should change their order in the tube. Obviously valving is application based and is personal opinion all in all, but I would like some advice on this if you don't mind.

I have a 2006 DCSB TRD, with an aftermarket rear bumper, softopper, and bed mat (~ 220 Lbs in the rear unloaded), so I do not have too much weight in the back (maybe another$150 for camping gear). I have 650 Lb coils in the front with nothing on my front. My suspension setup is a pair of Icon 2.5 coilovers in the front, (so I guess this will apply to my Icon 2.5's upfront also) and the 2.0s in the rear.

Most of my miles (~90%) are highway, on road, or dirt roads. I am a weekend warrior when I get the chance and do go to the mountains a lot in the winter and spring. When I do go off road it is generally a fire road or some OHV trail in the mountains, so really its more of slow stuff, but I enjoy going faster over terrain if I can since its so exhilarating. Also, Cali roads are sometimes more rough than most OHV trails LOL. For mainly road driving, trails, and fire roads which I hit at 35 or so, what should I do about shim size and the shim stack? Should I keep it stock? I like the Icons digressive valving because I really can feel it smooth out the faster I go or the heavier I load, but Tacomas are light trucks, and also, on-road driving at anything less than 50 can be a bit stiff. get thinner shims? place a smaller shim set first, go to medium sized ones, back to small, and then the large? Or, should I just not care and leave it the way it is.
