I have a 2016 Sport with 75K miles, between 15 and 25 mph the truck shimmers. It only does it between that speed. Any ideas what that could be?

Have you tried varying your driving style across that speed range to see if the shudder continues?

ECT on? Holding a lower gear? Accelerate more briskly through the range?

IE does it do it in ever possible driving scenario?

@gearcruncher , any other simple diagnostic suggestions?

Does it do that when you shift to neutral at that speed? If so, may be suspension related. If not, as mentioned above, TC or driveline.

Shudders at normal take off in 3 gear (auto) . when slowing down and then accelerating up to 3rd shudders , not every time. Tested it using ECT. and same thing. Tried manual shifting 1st-2nd-3rd and got the shudder. but not all the time . It did seem that the harder I accelerated it did not do it . Took to my Toyota Dealer and they test drove and they saw the shudder and said it was the Torque Converter
So it goes to dealer for fix T he torque converter was on back order. Cost $ 2600.00 Parts and Labor. Went to a local Trans Shop. to get another estimate, they could not meet the price. I have had Very Good Luck with my dealer and Trust their work !!!

How exactly does a ride "shimmer"? Shimmer means to shine or sparkle.

Thank you everyone for the response. Yes, shudder would better describe what's happening. It happens at slow acceleration like when I'm driving behind someone in a 25mph zone. I do not think ECT is on but I will double check on that. Seems like a pricey fix for a truck with average miles.
Does anyone know if this is a common issue? I'm in NJ, does anyone have a mechanic they recommend?

I live in Mass, I found the best deal At my dealer ship. There are not many shops in my neck of the woods that will do trans work. My 2016 OFF ROAD HAs 91300 MILES. Not happy about this but it is what it is. Good Luck With Yours !!

I had a very severe case of this on my ‘17 TRD off-road. Light acceleration between 20-30 mph it felt like a bad wheel hop, then around 40 mph if I feathered the throttle it would shudder your teeth out. I was way out of warranty at 128k miles, so I got a price from the dealer and a price from a very legitimate transmission shop. I ended up going with the transmission shop and couldn’t be happier. They replaced the fluid, filter and cleaned the valve body, and did a software update for under $700. No issues so far at 135K.
