You don't use that hole. You use the slot. The u bolts will keep the shim centered and kept in place

Really? What’s the hole for then?

I couldn't answer that. The shims I bought only had the slot and the others I've seen only have the hole. If you used the hole in that location on your shims they wouldn't be too effective.

The shims you bought are designed to slip in without taking the spring pack apart.

I am of the opinion a pint = a pound and a cc = a ml; so if it works for you, good. The shims I purchased are steel and designed to bolt into the leaf pack, a purest solution. I like the idea that my shims are locked in, providing me one less issue to worry about.

Did you have enough center pin button remaining to lock into the perch?

Longer pins with a collar is the way to go IMO...you can see the collar on the left spring pack between the pin and the bottom overload. When adding a shim this is the best way to ensure that the pin seats into the top of the axle.

    Good question. No.
I did add collars to the center pins.

    Exactly like Sna above.

Like yo ma.......err....ummm, it rides great with the B110 shocks on the back. I have a cap, sleeping platform, CBI bumper with Highlift jack, 79lb wheel/tire and two full 20L gas cans that I always have with me. I had almost 400lbs of the new wheels and tires in there the other week and it rode great with all that weight.

I don't have access to the collars so I picked up some lock washers that I can stack to the right thickness. Think that will work?

    Hey Dfunk
Did u add the shims after the lift or durring?
Im adding mine today and wondering about the process. Can i just loosen the ubolts enough to get a space to fit the shim or do i have to completely remove them? I have the same ones you have

I did shims after the lift. Do yourself a favor and get an angle finder too. Did I already mention that? :anonymous:
Will give you a much better idea of how much to add, if any.
You may need collars for the center pins too, depending on how much shim you are going with. See post #10.
Good luck. :fingerscrossed: Can't be a very daunting process, but you will learn a lot by doing it.
