Just bought a 17 Tacoma out of Indiana with a front end collision. I contacted the company before it shipped it to ensure they had the windshield area covered. When it arrived half the windshield was uncovered and the entire interior was drenched. Should I make them take it back, or brave the potential electrical issues??

Cup holders full of water, water dripping from under dash, carpet and seats drenched..

Front end collision is one thing, especially you buying it knowing it's preexisting. Water damage in the interiors is a big nope. Not only just electrical risk but the carpets and materials will never smell the same. They are basically destroyed at this point.

Before the water damage I paid 8995 for it shipped. Before the water damage I could have it done for roughly 13k.

My father in law had a carpet cleaning business I can have him come over and suck out the water and clean the carpets and upholstery.

My only worry is electronics. I know where the trick went through and the area was absolutely dumped on with rain last night.

    Fwiw it's a 17 access cab 12k miles 6cyl 4wd

You'll never get the water out completely. Its been soaking to the metal under body. Could potentially cause rust in the futures as well.

Okay, you are all reaffirming what I knew but didn't want to accept. Now I hope they take it back...

We get it. It's hard to let down a good deal, but this particular situation, at least after the water damage could potentially cost your more money than buying a new one or potentially your life if something fails while driving.

The carpet and seats wouldn't worry me. They can be taken out, taken apart and dried, sanitized.
I'd be worried about the dash although if it wasn't submerged, it may be ok. I've seen a LOT of vehicles get wet inside. For the most part they dry out fine. When they're under water, it's like flipping a coin.

edit: I take it this is already a salvage title? I bet there's no refund

If you accepted it without a windshield, you may be out of luck. Unless you have it in writing that they agreed to ensure the cab area was covered, think your out of luck. They could have covered it as a courtesy which is a lot different. Good luck with this situation...
