I have shipped two Tacoma's to Maui (one in 2020 one last month.) I prefer Pasha to Maui because the boat comes to Maui. Matson unloads in Oahu and then a Young Brothers barge/boat completes the trip. Cost to Maui was $1450 in 2020 and $2200 in 2024. Oahu is less.

My hi rise shell was allowed but not the roof bars on the shell. I would argue this is no different than your rack system. The roof bars bolted to the cab (OEM) were allowed. I ended up using zip-ties to attach the shell roof bars to the bed rail attachment system and got away with it. I had my trailer hitch under the back seat storage along with some straps and a couple of other things. They did not check under the seat. I made sure nothing was visible that I wanted to keep. I did not leave the owners manual or anything else in the glove box or center console. Gas between 1/8 and 1/4 tank. Don't give them more than one key or risk them losing both. I did leave in the weathertech mats.

If the model year is 2024, 2023 or 2022 you will have to pay taxes on it before you can register it. This is to protect local dealers from having everyone buy on the mainland and not spend money at local dealers. If you are Military you don't have to get Hawaii plates and probably don't have to pay taxes. You still need to get a permit from DMV (I think).

As mentioned before I suggest you call Pasha and Matson. This is from the Matson site: "Remove all personal belongings from your vehicle*. Car covers, roof cargo carriers, attached tents, bike racks, and additional batteries of any kind must be removed from the vehicle."

I also brought over a Shelby GT350 and Matson would not take it because the ride height was too low for them. Min 5 inch if I recall.
