Thinking a cool trip would be to EL Mirage some pre running and hill climbs but the cool thing would be Tacoma drag racing and high speed test.

Went to Americas Tire Company today and got my new spare rim put on my spare tire and got that ugly stock spare steel rim off. Also asked the guys if they could remove the rocks that I though we're rolling around in my tire from when my tire came off the bead on my Mojave trail run last November. Turns out it was my broken TPMS sensor rolling around in there hahaha. So I got a new sensor put on. Also they told me the bead on that particular tire was ripped so they gave me a brand new passenger front tire for free cuz I had the warranty on the tires! Score on the warranty.

Went out to the garage this morning and decided that I would start messing with some things. Decided to try to tackle a rear diff skid. Went and took a couple measurements in the rear and then hopped on the plasma cutter and started cutting pieces. Cut a piece wide piece about 28" long and scored the spots where they would angle up and parallel with the axle. Then re welded everything together. Then I added 6 inch long piece that would run from front to rear and welded those on. Test fit that underneath the truck and it fit pretty well. Then got back on the plasma cutter and cut triangular pieces to fill in the sides of the skid. Welded in the triangular pieces and then put it up under the truck with some zip ties to see how it looked. I think it's coming along okay. Don't mind some of the ugly welds today haha. Didn't clean the edges cuz I was lazy so a couple welds came out porous.

Cool build, I like the fact you've fabbed your own stuff.

If that rear diff skid turns out nice Ryan you could be making me something else I was looking at the BAMF but he's not making them anymore. I saw the one from RCI that Toytec has but I'm not to sure about that one, the BAMF one had the right angles and the fit was snugg to the diff.

Awesome truck and badass DIY projects. Sure makes me wish I could run a welder and plasma cutter at my current place. My garage is on a shared circuit with everyone elses so I'm mostly SOL working on anything that requires power.

Great job so far on that diff guard, subbed for progress, and build inspiration.

Thanks Jeremy! I really appreciate the kind words. My wife and I bought our first house about 6 months ago and I can't begin to explain how grateful I am to have my man space out in my garage and just be able to go to town on projects in there haha. Great thing is there was already 220v hooked up in my garage so my welder and plasma cutter fit right in with ease!

Been a ton of fun getting to build up all the stuff on my truck! Again thank you very much for the kind words!

I've checked out your build multiple times and yourself have a very nice truck as well!
