It's a little nutty to think that most of the trails you or I have driven in our built trucks were originally crossed by dudes on horseback pulling wagons like that. And even more so to think that before them, there were no trails. Can't even imagine the balls on some of the people during Manifest Destiny to pack up all their belongings and head west knowing full well that most of them would not be alive by the time they reached the western states. Taking decades at a time, you almost had a whole new generation arriving than that which originally departed. It's nuts man. Overlanding is an extension of that sense of adventure. You can even say it's one of the most American things you can do nowadays that isn't heavily regulated. Get in touch with our roots man.

Doesn't look like anyone dropped a link to this forum, might find an idea or two:
    TNTTT.com - cargo trailer conversions - http://tnttt.com/viewforum.php?f=42
good lists of parts - doors, windows, fans, electrical
also a section about off road construction secrets.

I really like this! You're totally right. Great way to put it. So many people want to leave the country for vacation and don't realize how amazing this land truly is. Don't get me wrong the whole earth is beautiful. I'm going to Cancun at the end of the month, but the United States has some truly amazing places to explore!!

    Awesome! Thanks man!

    We'll trade for stickers

Thanks for not tagging me jerkface :pout:

I've told some of my more "well traveled" coworkers that as much as I'd like to travel and see the world, I would also like to get to know my country and all of it's diversity. If anyne ever got a chance to see it, the Discovery Channel's docu-series, "North America" was amazing. Narrated by the buttery voice of Tom Selleck, (go figure). It was actually pretty cool to watch it and actually recognize some places I have been and of course see a lot more places that I want to go.

You can watch some of it here:

Mine probably ended up on countless PeeChee folders from middle school.

Here's a fun Google exercise: Type your name and Garbage Pail Kid and search:

Here's Ryan's. Seems fitting being a welder and all!

Ayy nice work on the trailer! I wa shuts curious what kind of welding setup ate you running, other than it being a Hobart? In the market for a welder and looks like you're getting good beads with good penetration so one as curious. Thanks man

What a difference in your welding from your first bumper build to now.

Thanks dude!! It's a Hobart 210MVP. I love it. Great welder! Highly recommend it. The MVP part is cool! (Multi voltage plug) you can run it off of 110v or 220v

Haha yeah Big difference! The first bumper was all flux core though too, so it was a lot more messy!
