    Hi All.

I have a 2005 Tacoma 4x4 V6 Double Cab with TRD. I do not like the shocks, which are the original Bilsteins. My experience with the Tacomas in general is that the shocks are very soft, even when the vehicle is new.

I work at a Toyota specialty shop, and we have found that replacement shocks designed to emulate original performance are also very soft. We eventually found that the KYB Monomax is an excellent choice for unmodified suspensions- the Monomax offers a firm ride, but not an excessively harsh ride for normal pavement operation. Unfortunately, KYB does not make a Monomax shock for the 2005+ Tacomas.

My question is, has anyone found a good shock for these vehicles? Specifically a shock for an unmodified suspension that makes a firm ride, but not excessively harsh for daily driving?

    Thanks in advance!
