The stud on the balljoint snaps. My guess is poor design putting lots of stress on the stud mixed with poor casting causing them to snap. I bought Moog and grease them every oil change and replace them 1 a year using the warranty though Oreillys.

Not to high jack the thread about lower ball joints but 75k-100k every or 5 years seems to be a good time to change them. Speaking from personal experience I know of a couple of coworkers whose lbj’s just snapped either on the job site or at a stop sign prior to getting on the freeway. Every once in a while a buddy or 2 (jeep/Chevy owners) will send me photo of a first gen with its wheel buckled indicating a broken lbj. I’ve seen a couple as well but now I pay attention because I own one. Don’t put yourself at risk or your passengers because you’re being a cheapskate.

Returning to Shocks/coilovers for @Tsean (and myself LOL!) @Andy01DblCabTacoma what say you about this set for a stock replacement? I see in the reviews one guy complaining he lost 3/4" in front, but he has a PreRunner when the specs clearly say 4WD (??)

I'm about to pull the trigger on this one (2003 TRD 4WD 3.4L ExtraCab, I think they might fit Tsean's setup too, not sure.) Anyone know of a seller that might trim a little cash off this set? :-D

This is one of those companies with no real overhead just a online store that just buys from a vendor

I really do not like the warranty have you checked that out??

So easy for the middle man to say your return did not qualify as a warranty claim since you already paid for your replacement

Just beware. Many more well known places to buy.

Thank you, front coilovers, OME shocks, no rear shocks, almost as much as the coilovers/rear shocks package, noted and added to the list.

You did get me thinking, as a webdev for years I used to see a lot of spoof sites so checked them out a bit. The BBB gives them a B because they didn't bother applying for accreditation. There are two complaints, one is a bit comical. Their ads flood results for a search of Bilstein 4600 Assembled Coilovers. Came across a couple complaints for other products, and even here on TW, package arrived beaten up. On the other hand, this kind of stuff happens to almost any business, eventually they make it right in the end. The problem is I'm not seeing anyone else offering this package at this price, hoping to get lucky.

    (She'll probably have a headache.)

OK Ladles and Jellyspoons, I guess I'll be the TW guinea pig on this one. SuspensionLifts responded, on a weekend, and though their response was short and kurt, at least they are alive. Since yesterday I've searched both G and DuckDuckGo for assembled coilovers, nada. I slept on it, dreamt about shocks and coilovers all night, spend another 3 hours going through a hundred or so threads here on TW, searched again, even bought individually no one can come close to this price. I re-considered getting a spring compressor and just replacing the shocks, but I'm old and tired and need a shower, enough of this stuff. :) I'll do that later for a spare set.

If they arrive beaten up, no big - see my thread on LCA's, those were chipped and rusty and came from McGeorge, and were packaged really well. Guess I'm going for it.

Edit: AND I found a coupon code for 5% off, not much but hey it will pay for beer.

My wife's beer, more of a tequila guy myself LOL

Edit #2: They use Verified by Visa and bank declined - probably because they are based out of Canada. Was able to complete using PP as a guest checkout. I ALSO GOT FREE SHIPPING WOOT!

Yes be sure to get the ones that fit yours, mine is an '03 and the link is for my year and model. You can wait until I get mine and see if all went well or not, I'll report on it here. They seem pretty responsive so far, as it stands they may be late because they assemble them themselves.

Based out of Canada shipping to the USA!!

    Free Shipping ??

Maybe things changed it has been a few years shipping to Canada cost me $60.00 for a Mig gun.

Looking forward to how this plays out!

    Good Luck.

Yeah same here LOL. No they're not shipping from Canada - They are based out of Canada but have a Torrance CA PO box, and their ready-to-ship products do come from warehouses across the U.S.

I generally don't do risky business but this is on a Visa card, it will resolve financially if it goes sideways (eventually.) So far not worries, they respond to emails and are asking the right questions. They are currently out of stock on the 81104 coils and getting an ETA but may swap them out for 81090's which might result in a little lift. The spring rate, etc are the same but they are .3" longer free height.

What that tells us is they are indeed like RockAuto, working with various suppliers and vendors. They didn't have to share any of that with me so I'm feeling okay-ish about it so far.

Ordered Sunday evening, it's Tuesday and coilovers have been sent to warehouse for assembly. Rears were sent via FedEx and should be here . . .

    TOMORROW! :-D

Edit: Assembled coilovers also shipped today a couple hours later. Should be here 6/22/23

Noted, rear Bilsteins came from Reno, assembled coilovers from Colorado.
