    Looks good!

I started mine yesterday, and hopefully try to get it done during the week. Definitely not a cheap mod unless you have everything needed for Satoshi laying around in your garage or know people who has what you need.

So that's it so far! I plan to paint all the silver on the interior of my truck soon also and i have the DTRL mod stuff on the way and can't wait to do the fog light anytime mod!! :)

I'll post more when those get done.

Specifics of mods - Satoshi: see first page
De/Rebadging: This was actually harder than i thought it was gonna be. I used a Revlon hairdryer(my girlfriends), 10lb fishing line, Goo Gone on a rag, consistently wet rag, Krylon fusion flat black spray paint.

Heat up the badge until uncomfortable to touch, use fishing line in sawing motion, peel the rest of the factory sticky putty from truck, back and forth between go gone rag and wet rag until no residue left on truck, paint three coats of black on clean badges waiting 10-15 min. between coats to allow for adhesion, cut double sided tape, rebadge!!!!

Total time was approx. 4 hours and about 10 bucks spent.

Great mod!!!!!! Hope everyone likes it. :)

ya I too like the look of the badges, im kinda regretting epoxying mine on before painting them black.

I really think that chrome mesh looks like chrome dipped chicken wire, thats all I could by locally so I decided to go with customcargrills.com

Yeah, that's really all it is right now, just a filler until i find the mesh i really want. So you got that mesh from customcargrills.com nad?? Cuz that's awesome mesh! I love that.

yup it was kinda costly, somewhere around 80 dollars to ship it to canada, but it was worth it cause its powdercoated and they give you enough material that you could cut pieces for the lil triangles beside the grill and bottom grill that is in the bumper.

HOUR AND A HALF TO DREMEL IT OUT!!
im going to do my satoshi this weekend, i didnt think that step took that long.
would it be possible to use my SAWZALL to save some time?
i know it takes time because of the drying of the fiberglass, then the drying of the bondo, then the drying of the coats of paint.
but that seems easy, like my favorite infomercial says:
Just set it and forget it!

it only took me about 5 minutes to cut it out with a dremel I used a bit that looked like a drill bit/ threaded screw, the bondo and sanding takes the most time, dont expect to have it done in one day.

Yeah, it took me that long. Contributing factors:

    1. I had never used a dremel, so i was being very very careful

    2. I didn't want to cut too close to the shell

    3. after the grille was cut out(which really took about 45 min.), the rest of the time was spent with a sanding bit getting all the residual plastic that wasn't cut out ground down to the shell to make it as close to flush as possible before sanding.

    4. There really isn't a 4, but i wanted to make one.

And yes, i agree with nad unless you clear your entire schedule and work through the day as i did. I got it completely done and installed back on in 13 1/2 hours working stright through with a couple 5 minute breaks and 1, 20 minute break(my girlfriend needed some attention)

So if you clear out your schedule and start early, i would suggest about 0800 or 0900, then you could have it complete right around 2100.

And it isn't so much difficult as it s meticulous.

If anyone still has the center section of the grill that they cut out, I would like to have it. I'm looking into making two solid bars that go all the way across the grill (basically just removing the emblem), so I would like to experiment with a cut up one before I try anything further. I'll pay for shipping and your effort to pack and ship it.

    Thanks.
