I searched around but was unable to find the specifics.

I currently have a 2012 Tacoma 2wd 5 Lugger. My plan is to put the Ready Lift SST on it. I'm also looking to replace the front and rear shocks, but I'm not sure which size to fall back on now that the truck is lifted.

I was looking to use Bilstein 4600's in the front and rear. Will 4600s work with the addition of the lift kit or will I have to go to 5100s?

I appreciate y'alls experience in this matter.

    Thanks

4600s will work but for the rear they're too short. For the rear any shock ment for a stock height 6 lug will work. Most people do 5100s but I have fox shocks 2.0.

Hack -- Apparently, I made the mistake of putting 4600's on the front and rear when I got my lift a few months ago. My truck is used 100% as a daily driver - never off road. Should I leave the truck "as is" or do you suggest changing the rears out to 5100's?

Change out the rears to 5100's if you have the usual 2.75"/1.5" level/lift. 5100's are the correct height and stroke for the rear end of lifted 5-lugs. 4600's would be replacement shocks for the stock 5-lug, all the way around.

If that's a level/lift going in, remember that the lift on the front end comes from the spacer - not the shock. You can retain the OEM struts in putting the spacer in, but it's gotta pretty much come apart anyway. If you've got the coin, might as well replace the OEM while you are in there, with the 4600's.

Yeah, I did the Pro Comp lift a few months ago and replaced the OEM shocks with 4600's on the front and rear.

Nevermind my last. I just realized you were talking rears, not front.

The Fox 2.0's should work on the rear.

I just pulled the trigger on the Fox 2.0's for the rear. Will report back once they're installed.

I'm doing a rear AAL, and getting some low mileage stock PreRunner shocks from a friend. I also can get a free 1" lift block if I want it. The front will get 3" spacer and Bilstein 4600's

My question is will the Prerunner shocks be the correct height with the AAL? what about with the 1" block?

As a DD, my truck does fine with 4600 all around with the ReadyLift. You'll notice the rear lacking in some areas when you're off-roading though.

Thanks for the reply. I'm planning on 4600's front and OEM PreRunner rear. Just wondering if the stock PreRunner rear would be the correct height for AAL + 1" block on my 5lug.

Also, I don't plan on attempting any off-roading other than some dirt roads and mountain roads. This truck is mostly just an appliance. I only needed something for Lowe's trips and to haul car parts around. I just want it to look a little more truck-like.

The blocks will lower your truck. Hopefully by oem prerunner shocks you mean the yellow bilstein ones which are an improvement but don't pay too much for them. I had 2 sets of those before I went to my fox shocks
