The minimum he should get for light off-roading.

I think maybe a double throw down in the front. What if he gets stuck out there..

Those 3.0s dont do well on small pebbles from what I hear. He might have to do a SAS swap too.

Probably dedicated hidden winch in the front and a hitch mount winch for the back. Again, just to be safe.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Oh man you guys are too funny, killing me. :)

Get rid of those weak Bilstein toothpicks and pick up a set of low mileage TRD Pro Fox shocks for $1100 - $1300. You will get a 1” front lift as well.

I go off road almost daily for my job, my employer has 2 tacomas, stock suspension with firestone destination AT’s in 265/75/r16.
Im looking to upgrade the shocks on my truck cuz i like to bomb through the desert and my sr5 shocks r way too soft

I agree with this. TRD pro suspension is designed for the tacoma by the people who made the tacoma and built by a company that has been doing offroad suspensions for a long time.
