    I would suggest a sleeping mat or even a air mattress if you plan on sleeping in your bed.

    I'm sleeping in my short bed. I've found I can stay toasty down to -15 with the following.

    Israeli Surplus wool blanket as a bottom cover for the bed of the truck.
    Your pick of camping air mat. Personal choice is a thermarest.
    USGI Surplus Bivouac Bag. Part of the cold weather sleep system
    USGI Cold Weather Black Sleeping bag.
    Combined with a Windstopper beanie and light weight thermals I'm good to go.

    Cold foot syndrome can be defeated by placing just under boiling water in an old Nalgene bottle and then place it in an old wool sock and sleeping with it between your thighs. Helps warm the blood going to your feet passing through the femoral arteries.

    You would think an air mattress would be the insulation, but no. A closed cell foam ground mat insulates better.
