Haven't seen anyone with this setup, so would like the peanut gallery to proof the concept before going for it.

Needs: Moderate lift to be used 85% highway and 15% offroad. Not into long travel but general over landing use. Hunting/fishing/backwoods camping/fire roads/etc.

Budget: I'm all about value, not hard #'s. I'm well aware that $1500 gets me a more capable setup, but I just dont think I need it...

Rear: OME/Dakar leaf pack for ~2.75". Stock shocks.
Front: Low Range Offroads front spacer kit. 3", billet, well machined. Stock coils/shocks.

~3", capable enough, for under $600 with all taxes/shipping included.

Would like to match with 255/85/16's. Have the right backspacing on my MB72's so I think rubbing will be minimal (have urethane mud flaps, not the bulky stockers).

I'm against rear blocks for the same reason the rest of you are. What are the issue's/concerns with front spacers only and a decent rear setup? Do the same rules apply as would with coil/struts at 3" = new UCA's needed?

    thanks in advance

Just make sure your bumpstops are correct to prevent shock blowout. Most people don't, and let the shock become the bumpstop when it is compressed fully and then snaps.

    Thanks @DCSBFTMFW

Whats your opinion on diff drop kit requirement? seems both answers are available depending on where I look: Either its bull, or I cant live without it.

I don't 4x4 these days and back when I did my Chevy didn't have all the lifting quirks our Tacoma's do, so I can't really answer that one.

Spend a little extra to not have spacers in the front since you are actually going use the truck offroad, just the peace of mind off road would be worth it imo. Also diff drop is basically bs from what ive read up on. Then again I only wanted 2inches of lift soo

    Can't.

I didn't really read the rear suspension idea.. :anonymous:

You'll need extended rear shocks or shock extenders (which are janky).

    Billy's at 2.5 w/ top plate spacer > 3" coil spacer IMO.

    Thought so lol

Good option for you OP would be 5100 shocks on the front with stock coils and OME nitrochargers in the rear

idk, if you are going to use your truck 15% offroad IMO you need a real suspension, coils, shocks, rear shocks at least...

Save the $600. Then when you save another $600, spend the $1200 on a complete OME kit shipped to your door. Don't waste your time buying a shitty setup!

Whats the "why" behind front spacers being a concern, or not as trustworthy? Slippage/breakage/etc?

The ride is fine. I don't have additional weight up front. I will rarely if ever fully articulate it. So if I dont need additional capability (beyond ground clearance), whats the story?

    Appreciate all the input!

From what I hear, the ride is far from fine. Also they allow you to bottom out your stock shocks and break them.

I have 5100s up front and extended 5100s in the rear with all pros expo leaf pack. Highly recommend getting billies. Very cheap, under 400 for a full set up

The ride should be exactly like stock. Same spring rate. Bottoming out is an issue, but as DCSBFTMFW pointed out, you've got to make sure you're not doing this by adjusting/replacing bumpstops.

From everything I've read, 5100's (at the 2.5 level) on stock coils is a crap ride. I'd rather have 3" and a stock ride. I'm really not against 5100's, but if you then have to add coils your sitting at around a grand real fast and still have to figure the rear end out.
