I've been thinking about building an elevated shooting platform for varmint shooting.

    Nice launch mount.

As a warning to others about guns and Tacomas, I'll share my embarrassing story.

I go out to the hills to sight in my rifle. I park perpendicular to the shooting lane, set up a lawn chair near the passenger side tail light, and use the tail gate as a bench rest. So I'm now shooting past the driver's side tail light. All is going well but it proves to be too much. The shock wave from my 338 Win mag literally blew the clear lens cover of the driver's tail light. The plastic welded seam all the way around had just been torn loose by air waves.:frusty:

The truck is only like two weeks old and I'm shitting my pants at what the cost of a new tail light will be. The 2009 has LED lights which I'm sure only make them more expensive. The dealer replaced it under warranty.:D

Ask road hunters what shooting a rifle on the hood will do to a windshield.
    You got off easy.
