    Not enough...
Charge back and blast these fuckers on Yelp too.

My dealer refused to replace a dead battery (bad cells after 23 months on a battery that has 36 months warranty) because I have a circuit breaker installed. They claimed "because of the way it is installed" they wont be able to warranty the battery. I left, bought a battery elsewhere and left the dealer 1 star Yelp review. Long story short, a reimbursement check should be here in a couple of days.

That's why you should always use credit. I only use my debit card to withdraw money. Pay off the CC at the end of each month.

Plus a card with rewards means it benefits you. A $3000 down payment on my truck got me $40 in points. BUT ANYWAY...make them pay for it. You tried being nice, it didn't work.

the fact that the shop is coming to you, the customer, to help figure out THEIR mistake says more than enough about the shop. I dont care if your best friend works there, whoever broke the part should be held responsible (from a manager's standpoint, treat it as a learning example so that individual never makes the same mistake again...and I dont necessarily mean drag him over the coals, but to each their own). The shop buys a new one, expedites shipping to get it over night and fixes it. thats just the way business should work (and some actually do believe it or not)

Yeah but they have to tell the OP that. Just like you do to your customers. If they never said that, then they are liable.

There just aren't a lot of options in Mississippi like other places. Plus the parts I had were quality. So essentially the only option that I have is to sue them?

hmmm is that in a legal document yall have or is that just to cover yall till more pressure gets put on you? we always had people sign waivers to go on a boat we ran, if something did happen, a decent lawyer could circumvent the waiver pretty easily. or so I was told.

They never said they weren't responsible for breakage. I agree that businesses shouldn't operate this way but the only option that I have is to take him to court and my dad doesn't want me to do that?

Not sure how old you are, but now its sounding like they think they can tell you anything and you'll accept it because you're a kid. If you are a kid and dad can get involved, he should know how to make them fix this the right way.

How do you break a shock during removal/installation? Something has to go seriously wrong...

Have they said what part is broke?

Have the intestinal fortitude to stand up for yourself. They are counting on you being intimidated and backing down....their endstate is to pay nothing and they lose 1 person (you) as a customer. No real financial loss to them. You better not walk away from this one, you are 100% in the right!

    Like this^^^

Be a professional (unlike the shop). speak to THE manager (not A manager, there is a difference) or owner.

You COULD bring up civil litigation, and if you sound serious about it most will buckle since its not worth their time. I have done this 1 time ever (and no it was not a threat, I had taken my paperwork (home renting related) to lawyers to make sure I was in the right before I pressed forward and the company instantly wanted to get rid of me and I paid nothing (which in my situation was what should have happened in the first place).

That sucks. I always hated that when I was younger. People try to mess with kids so much because they think they don't know any better. Always had to get my dad involved. Even in mid 20's, people try to take advantage. Made me stop going to shops to get anything done and learn how to do things myself.

Sounds about right. Shitheads love to take advantage of younger people who might not know what the norm is.

I think we all got taken advantage of when we were 18-20 or so. It's part of growing up. There's a lot I look back on and go "man...they played me." I want to help the OP prevent that from happening to him.

Most lawyers offices will answer a couple questions free of charge. Call a local law office to pick their brain, and asses from there. The shop could be breaking some law you (and they) don't know about, and the problem could solve itself from there.
