Yesterday my best friends shop burned down. It was our home away from home. So many memories of all the days after middle school and high school, all the time we have spent there building numerous things and projects. So much was lost. All of our tools, welders, engines, transmissions, countless parts. All current projects gone. Seems way too hard to believe. It is a sad day on this side of SC.

As you can see, several engines and trans lost... So much gone.

I've been down this road also with tons of racing equipment, parts, tool, etc. Like you said all your memories. Well, you still have them. And you will always have them. Time to make some new, bigger, better ones. I am sorry for your loss.

No insurance coverage, because didn't realize it was on his dads land instead of his.

No explosions thankfully. Just randomly started while he wasn't home and he got a call saying it was burning, he beat the fire trucks there but still wasn't anything he could do to save anything.

Yeah thankfully no one was hurt. Im just glad I didn't get there when it was burning b/c my dumb a** would have tried to get in and attempt to save some stuff. Especially the LS engine we just finished assembling.

Because it was a concrete and metal building, the fire marshall couldn't find a cause. Said it may have originated near the door and been electrical. Still really no clue. Just glad no one was hurt and it didn't spread to the house or woods.

Stuff is stuff, but it was our stuff and a lot of it. Just a bit depressing.

It's always good to look to at the good instead of the bad in tough situations. You may have lost all those projects but now you have a new one. Building a new shop and salvaging what you can. Maybe it will turn out better than it was before.

Yeah we have already drew up plans to build a 110x40 pole building and we were gonna start on it after new years and build it in pieces so we didnt have to take out loans, but that is when we still had the little shop to store stuff and be able to keep working. Now we are having to make a plan B.

We're thinking the safety valves on the tanks worked as they should have. Otherwise would have been a big boom.
