I got a quote from a local reputable shop to get Icon front coils, Icon billet UCA's, Icon rear shocks, Expedition rear leaf pack, alignment, etc.

Here's the price breakdown. Am I getting a reasonable deal here?

If you can turn wrenches, have basic knowledge of how to work on trucks and have the tools and area required to work on your truck you can do all of this yourself and save some serious $$$. Also check and see if there are any other TW members in your area, most guys don't mind pitching in and helping for some beer and food.

TW does have a lot of helpful members and I don't doubt that's true...unfortunately my work schedule is so sporadic and demanding that I rarely have time to commit to anything :( It pains my wallet to say, but I'd rather spend the extra $$ and pick it up a day later!

Good question...I'll have to call and ask what that's about. I thought the discount was a nice gesture, too. I referenced TW enough during my consultation that they know I've been relying on members while researching my truck.

Ok good to know! I don't mind spending a little extra coin for quality parts and service because I feel like my Tacoma is worth it. Just like to make sure I'm not being over charged.

I live in Phoenix. Glendale, more specifically. Northern and the 101 in the Westgate area. Thanks for bringing to my attention that my profile needs more information! Just finished editing it.

I'll do it for half? Just kidding, my schedule sucks too and I work nights so I sleep during the day. Makes a normal social life difficult. If you have the money, the labor cost isn't that bad. Where you getting it done at?

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
If they warranty the install and parts do it it's piece of mind. I paid $300 from a friend to do mine but was quoted from $650-1100.

Expedition leaf pack was all that I got. This is what that shop recommended based on my needs...I'll ask for some details tomorrow.

That's kind of how I think, too.

    It's SDHQ.

Turns out the fab work is for the "spindle gussets." I'm not going to pretend to know what those are, but I can't say it wasn't explained to me on the phone because it probably was but I just don't remember. I had a few of those "yea sure let's do that, too" moments lol

Spindle gussets are to reinforce the spindle (aka steering knuckle), since the stock spindle can apparently bend from mobbing in the desert. See details: It's a good upgrade, though stock wheels will need spacers to fit.

SDHQ is indeed reputable. You are paying for a shop that knows what they are doing.

Ya dude, have them do it......I still need spindle gussets too!

You could get Icons tubular UCA's instead of the billet ones. Will save you $600-$700 and they're just as strong. Other than that, you've got a top of the line set up! Do it once and do it right! ;)

These suspension upgrades are the first step toward resolving my vibration issues. If this doesn't work out, then I'll once again take the truck to SDHQ for a 1-piece driveshaft.

...and if all that doesn't resolve my vibrations, it's Tundra time :(

We would send ya to Mesa/Arizona drive shaft or Phoenix rack and axle for that. It's who we use, so no sense in having a middle man for it. Both of those places do great. Everything else, we got ya covered.
