Shop rec for truck audio

Hi everyone,
I'm in the north bay.

I'm trying to help my dad out by finding a place to replace his stock audio.
He has a 05 F-350 4wd super duty.

Nothing fancy, as close to stock as possible. His cd play broke

 

Audio Designs in San Jose. Best Buy used to do installs. Idk if they still do.

Had them redo my entire truck's audio system and love it.

 

There's a TW member up in Wine Country that does sick installs, fiberglass fab, and deals with quality equipment.

That's a name that I haven't heard of in a while. I worked for Audiomobile back in the glory days of car audio (mid 90s). Is Mr. Kim still part of the ownership team?

 

@rob1208 Sound Innovations' reputation precedes itself. I'm not in tune with how they are currently, but back in the days, they were the one local shop that was designing car audio sound offs winning systems and were also entrusted by manufacturers to build demo vehicles (Kicker, Lanzar, etc)....

Back in those days, there were quite a few car audio installers that were basically Electrical Engineers but didn't have the schooling nor EE degree. But the vast majority of them have also done some Time and were quite addicted to the activities of a pool hall.

 

Bao and David runs the show now. They moved from Oakland Chinatown to a larger building in Hayward.

 

Thats what I've heard. I got recommended to them from a friend who was having his excursion and another car done at sound innovations. I wasn't familiar with them from back in the day but when I went to pick up a subwoofer box from MrMarv, he told me about how all of the huge bbqs and events Ernesto and his guys would put on. They seem quite busy with work still when I went them a little over a year ago.
