Yea I'm not a fan of having to scrape that deck of mine :annoyed:

The weeds have also popped up severely in my flower beds. Doesn't even look like I have mulch

I sprayed the weeds in our flower beds last week.

Our house didn't have any flower beds when we moved in, wife and kids made a couple last year.

We haven't put mulch in them yet :anonymous:

Kinda like our flower beds. The last time they were actually well kept was 10 years ago when the previous owner first moved in. I was able to mulch about a third of the beds this spring, but the weeds still came up through the cardboard I used as weed barrier.

Ohio has actually been in a drought all summer, so Helene changed all that. I haven't mowed in 2 months, and I'm not happy that I am going to have to mow in October.

Been too cool to really spray them, although I should have done it a couple weeks ago when it was still in the 70's. Whoops! :annoyed:

I got to re-mulch everything next Spring. Did it last May and it's starting to look shaggy again. Got to level out a spot behind the house as the realtor said it looks like it slopes twords the house. It indeed does...

We were in a drought for the longest time till Debbie skipped Dallas and dumped a bunch of rain on us in early August so I've been back to mowing ever since. Got a little dry, but not anymore!

That's awesome Greg Biffle and dirt mcgirt or whatever that YouTube fellas name is are taking water all over the place.

Can't hardly believe this hurricane and it's rains caused this much damage inland.

Between the longshoreman union strike at the ports and the effects of this storm and the travel corridors, the cost of everything is about to go up again. Load up on everything you can before it does.

My wife was talking to our preachers wife about walnuts. Yada yada my parents have a large walnut tree in their yard. I went by last week and got 8-5 gallon buckets full for them my dad had picked up.

They were full of gnats, some were starting to mold, etc.

Told the preachers wife and she said she didn't want them. Understandable.

I poured them out in the woods at our house yesterday. Every bucket had maggots in it :puke:

I will not be getting any more walnuts from dad o_O

Since 2400+ miles was towing with 1200 at around 3300 rpm I pulled a sample to send off to Blackstone for analysis, curious.

Can’t like it but will :hattip:for posting it.

Just heard over 150 confirmed dead and over 100 still missing. It’s devastating. The people left to clean up and rebuild will be doing the work for years to come but their time in the lime light will fade in days..

My dad does an awful lot of composting so I'll see if he has any words of wisdom. Aside from that, I don't have advice to offer.

This may be a dumb question but are you able able to receive anything like mail? Or is that out of the question right now? To follow that up, if yes, is there anything that might be helpful to send? I like to try to put some feet on my prayers when possible if that makes sense.

The whole situation sounds utterly devastating. Glad your family is all accounted for!
