Yes, thanks. I'm going to put Clifford back in the garage for the evening and break out the manual tomorrow. Bummer not finishing this job completely but wife is trying to order a wheel speed sensor for the Audi and she needs assistance.

Now you got me thinking I better unhook the battery for the evening. I can investigate later and leave battery hooked up on the weekend. I do have a fire extinguisher on hand.
Thanks for giving me that to consider

Ok I got wheel speed sensor ordered for my sons Audi. I could go into a lengthy rant about that but I'll spare you all.
I've come to realize in the last 5 years or so that both getting older and just getting more stuff(filter on), that I have a hard time keeping track of everything. Three possible places where Service Manuals are kept and it in the last place I look...naturally.
:rofl:ok going to open it up now.

You are correct though, and to be honest I actually thought of one other place I might have a couple stashed. Haha good one for sure. I even found service manual for 07 Softail Custom used to own. Forgot that one.

Story of my life -- so much (filter on) stuff, everywhere ... :frusty:

I bought a International 140 tractor, not running naturally.
Someone had gone to the good time and trouble to mess with every wire on the tractor. :smack:

So I removed them all and commenced to wire it like a GM car for which I needed a GM alternator.

I knew I had a perfectly good one, took it off a car 25 years ago and .......

..... after 2-1/2 hours of looking I found it.

Boo Hoo, just ordered $330 parts for the daily van. :sadviolin:
Replace all this and fix the rust holes then I can get it inspected -- going to take me a while, I'm slow... :turtleride:

Only 25 years ago?:rofl:that's awesome, you did eventually find it.
    Good morning friends :pccoffee:
I hastily looked through the Service Manual for my quad and several easy to follow steps to check everything electrical. The bad or pucker factor part of it is having to remove the rear fenders. No, not a terrible bad job but I've got so much to do all the time. Need to clone myself like that movie. Except stop before the guy who likes pizza.

I'm sure the design was ok originally. It's when a kid or young man that watched fast and furious one too many times, decides they want to be a tuner, Ricky racer and they haven't a clue nor mechanical ability.
My son bought first one then another 2000 TT quattro. I advised him strongly not to. It has been exactly as I told him. Can't drive it anywhere because it breaks down constantly.

Not usually. They almost always have a slotted drive and are mainly just for looks.
Those aren't cheese head screws. From da interwebs
Also, I figured cheese head and fillister are the same...apparently not.

When I was in school a friend had a Fiat X1/9 which was much like a Pontiac Fiero except much earlier and even less reliable.

It was a father & son project car and boy did they work on it, even though it was fairly new it broke down, fell apart and rusted away as quick as they could fix it.

    Lime green X1/9 for Shane.

That’s what I found, was that the cheese head was regarded to having a deep slot for positive engagement. (And a cheese wheel appearance)
