    Looks mighty flat up there.
I have turkeys all over the place it seems and routinely see 10-20 in a field about 1/2 mile from the house. .

I have glasses all over the place: chair, kitchen, bathroom, cars, garage, desk.

Really annoying when I go in a store to discover I left them in the car though...

I used to do that when the readers were at 1.5. Now I’m up to 2.0 so I just use the one pair that I keep mostly on my person or with my phone.

One of the fun parts of getting old

Today's projects include: diagnosing a boat that has been sitting for years to make an estimate of what its gonna take to get going again. Diagnosing an ulterra trolling motor that fell off the boat going down the road, and most importantly, trying to get motivated

Wouldn't be bad if we had some parts

Good morning guys, back to Monday already. Let’s make it a good week!

Thanks for the comments on the Mac. I’m aware of the “as built” aspect of them and I’m OK with that. I tend to keep my computers for a long time, and I gave up tinkering with them sometime ago, I just want the thing to sit on the desk and run now.

I had already decided to bump the memory to 16 and storage to 512, this seems to be the current sweet spot for my purposes. Beyond that, the cost for storage gets a little outrageous IMO. I can buy a 2 TB external drive for significantly less than what Apple wants for the same internal storage. With the speed of the thunderbolt ports and a SSD drive there won’t be a bottleneck with anything I’m doing.

After thinking about it over the weekend I have decided to go all in on the M2 Pro Mini, plenty of ports for future expansion and more horsepower than I need but will be good for the long run. Thanks again.

I gave my kid the option of taking an Uber to Machine Gun Vegas or walking.

I paid for that for the next few days.

We're in a little mini valley, what you see is most of the flat. There's plenty of turkeys around here too, just not presently where I plan to do my shootin' :annoyed:

Go to work with a Bluetooth fire nozzle today, can open the nozzle from the nozzle , it controls the pump keeping my nozzle pressure at 50 psi giving me 150 gpm at the nozzle, very interesting. The developer flew in to assist with the install

Actually it does, sort of -- use the zoom on the camera.

The kid who worked for me showed me that handy trick.

I have used the phone to get part numbers from filters, ect when still on a machine, just stick the phone down there and take a bunch of pictures, usually you get something you can work with.

I have done the same before, even using that feature to try to identify a bird.

I was pretty impressed when the kid says "here, do this" -- right away I'm  why didn't I think of that....

My kids laughed at me for blowing up pictures on my phone and put a magnifier app on my phone. You can zoom on that too.

That's what I do to read labels when I forget my glasses in the truck. Take a pic and blow it up.

Based on what you just said, here’s my 2¢

*) Apple M2 Pro with 10‑core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine (it should be fine, it’s $300 for additional 2APU and 3GPU cores if you want to spend)
*) 32GB unified memory (memory almost ALWAYS pays off, since you can’t add it if you need it)
*) 1TB SSD storage (the cost jumps for 1-2TB and most OS/programs can safely exist in 1TB. You said you’re adding external storage for bulk content.
*) 10 Gigabit Ethernet (it’s coming, and you’ll like having it already for $100)
    Says $2K….

There is a company that makes some that fit on your nose and store on the back of your phone. Friend has them. Pretty slick if you need them. He always has his phone and the glasses. I remember they had some warranty if they break. Pretty slick…
