That must be nice! My 2013 manual does between 16-18 at best and if I hook a trailer to it, that goes from 12-14. The supercharger may have something to do with it…

Picked up this mower this morning. Should be straightforward swap. The chassis does have some additional emission fuel vapor lines that might need plugged.

lol. from what i can find at least this one doesn't have a nickname!

this is the one my neighbor donated to me from the far reaches of inside his garage about 2 years ago. he didn't know it was back there. it's an old toro 826 that time seems to have nicknamed "The OX" from my internet searches on the model info. it got new belts and a carb, then went on to a new life at my brothers house.

they didn't have a sticker on it with a price, i made sure i had $50 with just to be sure i'd be able to get it! i was really expecting something nearer $40-50

i'm still incredibly impressed with how toro still maintains documentation on these old units. most of the time anything pre-1980 is almost entirely lost to the ravages of time, and almost nothing will exist on the internet.

it's going to get cleaned up and running great, then i'll find someone to take it off my hands that'll appreciate it. i've got a nice 2-stage, and lack space to keep anything more in the garage anymore. my buddy's been looking for his first house, i'm hoping by the time i get it up and running i can give it to him as a housewarming gift!

 

Snapped some pics of the Kawasaki 730 and the Predator side by side.

Both are advertised as 22.5 HP.

The similarities are quite noticable.

Harbor freight no longer carries the 708 Preditor. I'm thinking the lawn mower industry is grabbing them all.

It's just a coincidence that I found a predator engine that looks to be exact in every aspect to the Kaw.

Update and correction:

I was told by the previous owners that this was powered by a Kawasaki 730v. After running the serial number thru Exmarks data base, I found that it's actually a Kawasaki 708v.
