Made the eighth bowl last night. Gonna try for nine and ten today.
My DeWalt corded angle grinder is showing signs of bearing failure. I can't understand it, it's only 25 years old....

I have had 100's of electric tools apart. :bananadead:

They usually take common bearings, less than an hours work and it should run like new.

Metabo grinders run and run and run and run. Not cheap but stupidly long lasting. I went thru a couple cheapo's, finally dropped good coin on a Metabo and have never looked back. That was a LONG time ago when I had hair that hadn't migrated from the top of my head to my ears and back.

I really do not miss those type of jobs .

I was thinking of returned favors in the future . That have never happened .

The only Metabo grinder I bought never worked out of the box.

Having heard Metabo praises on a constant basis being only 20 I set it on the welding table and left for 9 months on a out of town project. Till I did get around to trying it the warranty had expired .

Lesson learned it could have been way more expensive.

Same deal only it was a construction heater. DOA right outta the box. Sweet talked the Manager tellin’ ‘em “No, I didn’t see if it worked right outta the box in the dead of Summer. Somethin’s just not right about doin’ that”. He gave me a New one.

At my old job the workers abused electric polishers (and I repaired them...). Working on a tool I notice hair, lots of hair wrapped around the spindle.

I approached a (good) guy with hair 1/2 way to his elbow. Just like on the news, "No comment" was all he said and went back to polishing. The tool operated at about 3200 rpm and there was a wad of hair. That one must have hurt.

A guy that worked for me claimed that he knocked himself out that way at a previous job. Not sure if I believed him because he was a bit of a story teller, but he definitely had the IQ to make it happen.

I have a scar across my chest (mostly gone now) from the late 80’s where a 9 1/2” B&D with a wire buffing wheel caught my clothes and removed a section of clothes/skin/blood…
