I just posted it lol. Let's see what happens. I can't stand it when even the ignorant are taken for a ride. It's a flaw I know.

    I like this a lot!
It will make a lot of people butt-hurt too ... :stirthepot:

I wouldn't say the coatings are without some value, as you said "you paid $1500 for a nice shiny water repellent coating that will last a few years". Some folks may feel this is a good value, some may not, it is their money to spend as they wish.

I anticipate the most vocal group will be the same ones who never listen to clearly presented facts on most other issues either.

Post and enjoy the ensuing :crapstorm:

:gossip: What thread is this, it should be interesting to follow along...

It's the scratch resistance and hardness that rubbed me the wrong way. Shiny? Sure. Water beading? Okay. But hard and scratch resistant? Sorry. Prove it. I can prove it's not.

:anonymous:I thought most people already understood it was more or less just a hype to sell a product.

    Very well written piece:thumbsup:

I use the car wash :anonymous:

No idea. I moved the fridge about a month ago to clean under it (being very careful of the water line) and I guess it kinked it....and I think it was spraying as opposed to leaking. :anonymous:

    Momma gettin new flooring!!

The paint on my truck is the softest I have ever experienced, it seems a falling leaf will scratch it.

My van is 17 years old and I take reasonable caution to keep it nice but it is ultimately a work vehicle, driven in the winter and on the dirt roads - the van collects less scratches & chips than the truck that is only driven in the summer and hardly ever on dirt roads.

So much ambient noise you were unable to hear?

Every thing still worked normal ?

That unfortunately, is the conversion from solvent base to water base. I still use solvent base in my wood refinishing. I have tried water based, but it is way too soft. However, major manufacturers didn't have a choice. It happened 10-15 years ago.
Water base is half as hard as solvent base.

    Agree.
Sometimes the "good old days" really were better.

The West facing peak of the garage has hard asbestos shingles, they last forever and take oil base paint well, it will fade but never peel.

I painted them with a "premium" 25 year latex paint -- 25 years my @$$... Looks like crap in less than 10.

Ladders & I no longer get along, I don't think I can get up there to paint it again.

Yessir. I guess the flooring, subfloor and carpeting blocked the noise. And our ac never seems to stop running lately.:frusty:

A pinpoint leak in a refrigerator water supply line will not make much, if any, noise. Ask me how I know:anonymous:

Thinking abbout some of my recent posts here….I kinda sound like a whiney douche. Nit my intent. I know many have it way worse than me and I’m grateful for the parts that don’t ache as well as the capabilities I have.

That said, day 4 better than day 3. I think I’m over the hump

Good morning everyone :hattip: I hope you have a nice day.
